I met Hrehan & Jillian at the Parap Markets initially and then later at the Nightcliff markets. Every hat Jillian put on her looked amazing. It was then only a matter of Jillian deciding on her dress and accessories and emailing her choice to me so I could make her hat, knowing that EVERYTHING suited her. Hrehan saw the 'Mad Hatter' top hat I had on the stall in chocolate brown and he ordered his top hat in charcoal trimmed with silver grey to match his suit. He also decided to order the magenta silk bow tie and pocket kerchief to tone with Jillian’s accessories. Hrehan mounted the podium in the finals of the fashion stakes for the best dressed man. Jillian was also in the finals for the best dressed under 25 category. A charming young couple who entered into the spirit of the colourful Darwin Cup and cut a stylish dash on the track. Jillian

Katherine Races 2013

Katherine Races 2013 was the second time I attended the Katherine Races.The first being over three decades ago! We joined the ladies from the Beef & Burgundy who provided a lavish luncheon. It was great to catch up with many familiar faces.My mission for the day was to photograph with as many ladies as possible wearing a Gayzdesign hat.There was such a huge crowd that it was a difficult mission, however, I managed to track down a few as photographed below.

Lead Up to Katherine Races 2013

With the Katherine Races only 3 weeks away, I held my first ever stall at the Katherine markets last Saturday. Fellow milliner, Jeanette Lambert and I had lots of fun meeting many of Katherine's hat lovers.We were very busy and I know that was due to the generosity of some key people in Katherine who put our flyer 'out there' through their network. I'll post some of the new season hats modelled by Pine Creek's gorgeous Danni'elle at the Lazy Lizard Tavern.
